Dating back to the Amerindian peoples pre-dating colonial arrival, Pepperpot uses cassareep, a byproduct of cassava, to preserve and infuse flavor.

Ingredients

  • 🥩 500 g beef
  • 🥣 200 ml cassareep
  • 🧂 10 g cinnamon
  • 🧂 5 g clove
  • 🍯 50 g brown sugar
  • 🧄 100 g onion
  • 🧂 5 g hot pepper
  • 🧄 10 g garlic

Method

  1. 1 Brown the meat.
  2. 2 Add cassareep and spices.
  3. 3 Simmer for several hours.
