Curry made with gram flour dumplings stewed in spiced yogurt gravy.

Why try it?

Gatte ki Sabzi embodies the inventiveness of Rajasthani cuisine to craft delicious meals sans fresh vegetables, reflecting a tradition of resourcefulness and a profound connection to local ingredients.

How it tastes

The gram flour dumplings are firm, with a slightly nutty taste, bathing in a tangy, spiced yogurt gravy that’s creamy with hints of aromatic spices, yielding a comforting and fulfilling dish.

Origin & History — first documented: 1750

Developed during the 18th century amidst arid terrains of Rajasthan where fresh greens were scarce, Gatte ki Sabzi became a beloved staple owing to its use of readily available ingredients and its rich, satisfying flavor profile.
