Borne from a necessity for cooling flavors in warm climates, the salad evolved in the early 20th century, making use of abundant squid from the Andaman Sea.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 🦐 300 g squid
- 🍋 50 ml lime juice
- 🧂 5 g Thai chilies
- 🥣 30 ml fish sauce
- 🌿 10 g mint leaves
- 🌿 10 g coriander
Method
- 1 Quickly blanch squid in boiling water, then cool and slice.
- 2 In a bowl, mix lime juice, chilies, fish sauce, mint, and coriander.
- 3 Add squid to the mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- 4 Serve immediately, ensuring flavors are well distributed.
